Basic Procurement Policy
At FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES, we aim to realize a sustainable society and achieve corporate growth, and under our vision, “Discovering new tastiness, Sharing moments of joy,” we comply with laws, regulations, and social norms when procuring raw materials, and we continually provide safe and reliable products.
We have formulated the Basic Procurement Policy set out below and implement procurement activities based on this policy to establish a sustainable supply chain under a cooperative framework with our suppliers and business partners. Accordingly, our group aims for coexistence and shared prosperity between our business activities and the environment and society.
(1) Procurement Ethics
We at our group procure products with the highest priority on providing our customers with a stable supply of safe and reliable food, based on the principles of fairness, integrity, and transparency.
(2) Compliance with Laws and Regulations
We will comply with relevant laws and regulations in countries and regions where we conduct business activities and support and respect international norms.
(3) Quality and Safety
To ensure the quality and safety of our products, we implement thorough quality control in accordance with laws and regulations, as well as by conducting our own assessments and concluding specifications. We also ensure safety by inspecting and auditing the manufacturing process of our products as required by our company.
(4) Respect for Human Rights and Labor
We respect the human rights of workers in our supply chain and do not take part in human rights violations. We strive to create an environment that is free from all forms of forced labor and child labor.
(5) Environmental Sustainability
We strive to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and sustainably and effectively use resources, reduce food loss and waste, improve production efficiency, prevent environmental pollution and identify our impact on ecosystems. We consider biodiversity and ecosystems and work to maintain and preserve them while minimizing our impact on them.
(6) Anti-corruption
We strive to prevent corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Supplier Code of Conduct
FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES has established the Suppliers Code of Conduct, which is a set of provisions that all of the suppliers and business partners involved in our businesses must comply with, together with our group, based on the Basic Procurement Policy.
Our suppliers and business partners are asked to understand the objective of this code and to cooperate in the establishment of a sustainable society.
1. Implementation
Our group will actively procure from suppliers and business partners that comply with this code.
2. Standards of Conduct
・Compliance with Laws and Regulations and Support for International Norms
Our suppliers and business partners shall comply with relevant laws and regulations in the countries and regions in which they conduct business activities and support and respect international norms.
・The Environment
Our suppliers and business partners shall work to reduce gre・enhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy consumption and to increase their use of renewable energy.
They shall strive to reduce consumption of raw materials and resources, to increase the efficiency of their use of raw materials and resources, and to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.
They shall be aware of their impact on ecosystems, work to minimize it, consider biodiversity and ecosystems and seek to maintain and conserve them.
They shall strive to reduce environmental impact, prevent pollution, manage chemicals and other hazardous substances properly and minimize emissions to the atmosphere, soil and oceans and any adverse impact they may have.
They shall endeavor to reduce water consumption and increase the efficiency of their use of water. They shall treat wastewater properly and work to conserve water resources and improve water quality.
・Human Rights and Labor
Our suppliers and business partners shall respect human rights and prohibit any form of discrimination or harassment based on gender, age, nationality, race, religion, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or the like. They shall ensure equality of opportunities, equal pay for equal work and freedom of association.
They shall prohibit forced labor and child labor. They shall restrict excessive long working hours and ensure reasonable working hours.
They shall provide safe and reassuring working environments and ensure occupational safety and health.
・Fair Competition
Our suppliers and business partners shall ensure fair and free competition and engage in no unfair conduct.
・Exclusion of Antisocial Forces
Our suppliers and business partners shall have no relationship whatsoever with any antisocial organization or individual that may obstruct the social order or sound economic activities.
・Prevention of Corruption
Our suppliers and business partners shall not engage directly or indirectly in any act of corruption, including bribery, embezzlement, extortion and bid rigging.
3. Inspection of Compliance Status and Other Matters
Our suppliers and business partners shall cooperate in inspections and audits and disclose information regarding the status of their compliance with this code and other actions upon request from our group.
4. Reporting of Violations and Corrective Actions
Our suppliers and business partners shall swiftly report any serious or potential violations of the code to our group and strive to implement proper corrective actions. In the event of a violation of the code, they shall properly solve any problems and endeavor to prevent their recurrence.
The establishment and revision of this policy will be subject to approval and resolution by the Board of Directors.
